This is a historical museum that shows how the Jewish people have fared in Holland throughout history.
The collection is rich in history, religion and culture. In 1989, the Jewish Historical Museum received the Council of Europe's Museum Prize for their extremely good presentation of the collection.
The museum is made up of four synagogues, the oldest of which is from the 1600th century.
Detailed texts and pictures show the history of the Jews and there is a lot to discover that you might not have known before.
Guided tours are offered daily and the staff are very good at retelling Jewish history.
On Sundays, lectures and films about Judaism and things related to it are offered. The museum also has a child-friendly small café where you can have lunch or coffee. The museum is open every day from 11.00 to 17.00.
