Red Light District

The Red Light District is a much talked about and rewritten area that runs through downtown Amsterdam. The name comes from the fact that prostituted women stand in red-lit shop windows and pose until someone wants to buy them.

In this area, everything is within the areas sex shops, brothels and strip clubs.

They also have more unusual attractions such as a condom museum. In the Netherlands, prostitution is legal and the business mainly takes place in the Red Light District where women from all over the world work to sell their services.

The Red Light District is Amsterdam's best-preserved district and is home to many beautiful, old buildings.

Here you will also find the best restaurants if you are looking for Asian food as there is a small Chinatown inside the Red Light District.

The thing to keep in mind when visiting the Red Light District is that it is photography is strictly prohibited the women in the windows. You can be arrested for this.

You should too watch out for pickpockets as this is a place where a lot of people gather.
